Licensing

Licences for the The Genius Application Suite are based on a machine/processor model. The standard term is 99 years.

Every installation is required to have at least one Genius Suite licence. Subsequent licences may be for Genius Suite or Genius Client depending upon customer user requirements.

Deployment licences can be purchased where Genius applications must be deployed to remote sites.

Typical installations:

  1. A secure production server running business critical Genius applications (Billing, Payroll, Production Tracking etc.) under a deployment licence, with development and maintenance implemented on a separate network node under a Genius Suite licence.
  2. Genius Suite installed on the Administrator’s workstation with multiple network nodes running Genius Client, giving staff and management interactive access to operational data from one or more enterprise database servers.
  3. As in 1, but with remote sites running client processes under deployment licences and exchanging data with the the central production server.
RapidGen Software Limited can tailor licences to meet individual customer needs and to optimise costs but in general terms, a set number of users on a specific machine are licensed to use the Genius Application Suite so that applications can be developed. Most users (who may be on different platforms) will be licensed to use a sub-set of the Suite (the Genius Client), for day to day business information services.

Licences can be purchased across platforms and operating systems giving Genius immense flexibility to deliver information throughout the enterprise.
