Major shareholder, founder of
Rapid-Gen Systems Ltd the original developer of Genius
and now Chairman of RapidGen Software Ltd. A thirty four year veteran of the
software industry, Ritchie brings to the company a lifetime of experience and
that rare commodity - strategic vision.
His unique contribution to the development of our software was to resolve the issue of the user/machine interface by emphasising the role of human logic i.e. Natural Language, Adaptability and Intuition in that critical component of application architecture.
The last few years have been a challenging period for Ritchie as he sought to assert his right to recover the business he launched and built. With this now achieved and the IPR to Genius in his ownership, he will once again be setting strategy, re-focussing on development and building strong relationships with our customers.
Tony has been closely involved in the
administrative and legal recovery of the Genius Software
and establishing RapidGen Software Ltd the UK based company that that will be
distributing and supporting the software in future.
As Chief Operating Officer Tony works closely with Ritchie McGladdery, Howard Rogers and the technical team to shape the product offering and resource the development effort. With a Masters degree in project management he sees his key role as resolving the competing forces of Time, Quality and Cost to the mutual advantage of our customers and the company.
As Tony says ...'The software industry has at times attracted poor reviews when it comes to delivering installations on time, to specification and within budget. Genius has never been criticised in this regard and I don't intend this to happen on my watch...'.
Tony has been involved in the IT industry for over 15 years, initially as a professional responsible for installing and managing corporate IT systems and more recently as a Web software and systems developer for Internet Applications Provider Accessible Technologies Ltd.
Howard is RapidGen's CEO and has over 30 years
experience in information systems and software development.
After graduating with a degree in Statistics & Operational Research, he worked in the National Health Service and became increasingly involved in the IT field. He developed early data mining tools and managed a large health census project covering some 3.5 million patient/service events. His first experience of the Genius products was as a user, providing an ad-hoc query facility for the first NHS online in-patient records system.
He joined Rapid-Gen Systems Ltd. in 1984 as a technical consultant and specialist in providing interface solutions with other IT products. For several years he was responsible for the development and maintenance of the Genius User toolset and created a number of Genius Linker modules.
From 2002 to 2007, he worked as a Project Manager for a public transport information system company specialising in real time applications for monitoring bus fleet locations and providing on-street information.
Howard re-joined the team at RapidGen Software in 2007 to spearhead new developments and brings with him extensive experience of merging the multiple technologies of Open systems back office, real-time processing, GPS tracking, GPRS telecoms and wireless communications.
Chief Technology Officer with a twenty year
commitment to Genius. Richard is a rare and valuable
resource with an unsurpassed knowledge of the product. He has been part of the
development team since the early days and is responsible for technical support,
testing and development.
Richard read Physics at Oxford and whilst working for the Atmospheric Physics Department on data collection from satellite instruments, went on to gain his MA and MSc.
His early experience with mult-user interactive computing, included DEC PDP-11, PDP-10, and PDP-8 systems. Subsequent projects included maintenance and enhancements of BCPL, Coral66 and Fortran77 compiler systems for PDP-11, Interdata 8/32, Computer Automation LSI-2 and LSI-4, and porting to DEC VAX systems.
In 1982 he joined the team that developed the Genius Solution, initially producing the first versions of RPL to run on VAX/VMS. He was responsible for the development of many of the user tools and program generators that formed the Genius Solution from RCL and SimplyGenius to the System Builder (RDU) and InfoGenius.
Jolyon read Physics at Oxford and became involved with
computers in 1970 while doing a doctorate in Nuclear Physics. He worked on
real-time data collection and analysis systems and operating system
enhancements, including client-server networking of disks, printer and tapes
between PDP-11s and the DEC-10 host.
In 1977 he moved to the Engineering department to develop a departmental computing facility which later included one of the first VAX systems in the UK. Projects included custom device drivers, a technical/scientific word processing system for theses & papers, a hardcopy system for raster-scan graphics terminals using dot-matrix and laser printers, and an early relational database system based on RMS indexed files.
Jolyon joined Rapid-Gen Systems Ltd. in 1986 and later became Head of Development. One of his first tasks was the creation of a standard framework for transparently interfacing Rapid-Gen (later Genius) tools to a wide variety of relational and non-relational databases. Later projects included upgrading the VAX runtime system, writing and maintaining a new version in C for porting to other platforms (OpenVMS Alpha, Windows and various Unix/Linux systems), and developing an RPL compiler for the Intel Itanium processor.
In 2003 Jolyon returned to Oxford University, and leads research and development for RapidGen Software Ltd on a consulting basis. Current projects include completion of the Itanium compiler, development of an Alpha emulator to aid porting to new hardware, and use of XML/XSLT to enhance the presentation capabilities of Genius software.
David read Computer Science with Chemistry at Royal
Holloway, London. His association with RapidGen's products began over 25 years
ago, initially as a user and subsequently as a member of the development and
support team.
Throughout this period he has had close contact with clients providing both training and consultancy in a wide range of applications, covering finance, healthcare, communications, insurance, manufacturing and retail. He has been involved in all stages of their product and development life-cycles.
His principle role is to work with our customers to ensure that each installation delivers the most efficient solution for their specific business logic and processes.
Laurence has worked in IT for over 35 years. He has
been involved with Genius, or its antecedents, throughout that time, working on
many different platforms. For many years he headed up the team that supported
Genius, managing the Help Desk, customer installations and training and all
aspects of pre and post sales support.
His career has spanned systems analysis, software development and programming. More recently, as a Business Analyst, he has focussed on the interface between commercial Users and IT solutions.
His extensive experience and knowledge of the issues facing large enterprises embarking on new IT solutions, is instrumental in determining effective strategies for timely delivery of new installations.
